The Adaptation Deviates From Manga
Film Director Takehiko Shinjo directed Your Lie in April movie while Yukari Tatsui is the scriptwriter. The film is derived from the manga’s story. However, there are obvious deviation from the original source as the film is a mere adaptation.
In the Manga story, the two lead characters are both junior high school students. In the film however, they are both sophomores. Anime News Network stated that last Monday, Fuji TV began streaming Your Lie in April trailer with an English subtitle.
Arawa’s original manga tells a story of Kosei Arima, a child genius who lost his talent to play the piano when his mother passed away. His life was a complete routine as he lives on a colorless canvass every day. But it began to dramatically change when he met Kaori Miyazono.
She is a confident female violinist with overflowing personality. Held captive by the girl’s charm, Kosei learned to move on and stepped out of his monochrome life. In 2011, the manga premiered in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine and ended in February 2015.
The series won Best Shonen Manga category in the 37th Annual Manga Awards last 2013. Kodansha Comics has been releasing the manga in North America and 10th volume last November 1.
