John Wick 2 reportedly to highlight influence from Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon. Actor Keanu Reeves intense training for the film. Is Ruby Rose the ultimate villain?
Actor Keanu Reeves finally successfully departed from his Neo character in Matrix and owned another badass human character. John Wick surprise the production itself when it became a box office success.
Few months after, the studio announced sequel of John Wick 2. Of course, Keanu Reeves reprises his role as the retired assassin along with Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane as Winston, and Lance Reddick as Charon.
Latest update on the news, John Wick 2 is proud about incorporating Hongkong influence into the movie. According to Empire Online, the major action scene will take place within a mirror room. Reeves told the site, “The mirror room was Chad’s idea.”
If the idea looks familiar, well it is. It was first seen in Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon movie. The John Wick actor added “It’s his homage to Bruce Lee at the end of Enter The Dragon. The whole installation is a maze of mirrors where guys can pop out and disappear. It’s very cool and a lot of fun to fight in.”
Another aspect fans are looking forward to in the revenge sequel feel is the training behind it. Keanu Reeves training in Matrix had helped the actor solidify his role.
But Reeves also underwent rigorous training with target shooting and guns. Watch his training below.
For John Wick 2, Reeves will have to face against Ruby Rose’s Ares and Riccardo Scamarcio as Santino D’Antonio, the main antagonist. Rose is also reported training for her role.
Several websites also released behind the scenes photos from their shoot in Las Vegas’ Chinatown. The team will change filming location to Rome.
John Wick 2 premieres on February 17, 2017.
